Witches, Goblins, and Falling Leaves

I never thought I’d be so ready for fall. I’ve always enjoyed all the seasons, but I’m a summertime gal at heart. I love warm weather and trips to the coast and all the things that come with summer.

But after a terribly hot, dry summer, I’m really enjoying the cooler nights. I’ve been on vacation this week and have taken time to sit outside on the patio in the evenings with my coffee and watch the gorgeous moon rise. And it’s been downright chilly. The house is decorated for fall, with Halloween spooks and lots of rich fall colors. We’re looking forward to fireplace weather, and Thanksgiving. I’m pushing my hubby to help clean out the greenhouse to make ready for the potted plants.

It's fun to watch the high school kids all dressed for Friday night football. And to think about some of the planned activities we have with friends. I'm even ready for the time to change so it gets dark earlier. Okay, that's not entirely accurate. I'm looking forward to an extra hour of sleep each morning. My grankidos are planning out their Halloween costumes and the stores are full of candy. I have this unhealthy addiction to corn candy.

How about you? What is your favorite season?

I'm a summer person - I like the light. I really hate the early darkness of winter. Sometimes O wish I had a winter home in Australia.

I'm with you on the light Linda. This morning all my shutters are open to let in the beautiful, sunny day. However, when I stepped out onto the patio, there is a deffinite chill in the air. And I'm enjoying that too.

I like summer best, too, although I have to say winter is best for clothes since I can hide my cute and chubby body better!

That is one plus for winter for me too, Liz. So far summer is a unanimous win.

Hmmm, usually summer, but not this summer. This fall has been nice because of our horrible summer.

I'm enjoying this autumn weather a lot more than the summer! I agree with Liz. I enjoy covering up with a big fluffy sweater! also, cold winter weather is good for curling up under a warm, cuddly quilt with a good romance book!

I hate the summer heat. The only good thing about summer is swimming. I'm a fall girl, always have been. I love the woodsmoke scent in the air, the crisp, cool temperatures, colorful falling leaves, and the longer nights and darker mornings are tailor made for a non-morning person like me.
Beautiful decorations , Pam
I need to get mine out.

Right there with you Vicki. This summer was too much, so fall is really nice. But now I have two cold weather votes. I always enjoy the changing of the seasons, but once it actually changes, not so crazy about winter. Most years I wouldn't care if summer hung around all year long.

I love fall and the cooler temperatures. And football. Texas A&M Aggies won today. Yay!

I'm definitely a fall and spring girl. No heat for me (and I used to live in Florida!). I love the fall especially with their pleasant days and cooler evenings. This past summer really killed any liking for summer at all. Way Way too HOT!!!
