Anyone who knows me knows that I am a warm weather person through and through. I don't typically complain about 100+ degree days in Texas. Winter on the other hand. . . However, last week my husband and I took a trip to Galveston Island with another couple. The highs were in the low 80s and evening lows cool enough that we wore hooded sweatshirts so we could sit outside and feast on seafood. Warm enough to take long walks on the beach and swim yet cool enough that we didn't bake. An awesome time to be at the beach after all the kidos are back in school and it's quiet.
Tonight my husband got home and wanted to take a drive in our old Fiat Spider convertible. We put the top down and went for dinner at a little Irish Pub we'd been wanting to try. Great dinner, but I got chilled on the drive home. A fire in the fireplace actually sounded inviting. The red one is ours.
So, yes, I'm loving Fall this year. But I'm not ready for winter.
What's everyone else's favorite thing about Fall?

Great looking car, Pam. Like you, I love Texas summers! What I love bet abut fall is FOOTBALL!
Is Galveston back to normal since Rita?
Lipperman - use spell checker the next time. that should read - what I love best about fall....sheesh!
Hey Liz. When I wrote this blog last night around midnight, I figured I'd have more misspelled words than correctly spelled ones. The car is fun to run around in when the weather is nice, mostly spring and fall. Although hot summer nights aren't bad either. I do enjoy fireplace weather.

Pam:
I have to echo Liz's comments - what a fun car!!!
And I hear you on fall weather - it's my most favorite time of the year. The days are cooler but still warm and the evenings cool off so you want to snuggle down into a blanket. Throw in a good book and it's heaven!
Addison
Thanks Addison. I only got a small taste of summer in New Yrok when I was travelin in and out. Two trips in the winter and the rest in the summer. I would love to see it in the fall.
I love being able to open my windows. Don't get to do that much here in hot, sultry coastal Mississippi. I also get the craving for chili, stuffed cabbage and pumpkin pie. Like you, Addison, with my throw and my book!

We've been riding around in our 1958 really red-red Austin Healey Bug Eye Sprite. The weather is perfect.
I'm with you: hot over cold. Soon I'll be wearing my Uggs again.
Try a blanket in the Spider.
Linda, you've now made me crave chili. And my hubby has it in his head to go to the state fair tomorrow. This is so not going to be a good weekend for my diet.
Vicki, I keep a sweatshirt in the Spider. It is nice. Top down and heater running full blast on my feet. Ha!
We did the Fair yesterday and it was Wonderful. Nice and sunny, cool breezes. I thought it might be a chore taking my five and a half month old grandbaby, but it was actually quite fun pushing a stroller around, plus, it has built in drink cups. October and April are the best months to be in Texas. The best months to be almost anywhere. And I do want to do Galveston again.
Hey there, Linda. Yes, I'd go back to Galveston pretty much at a moment's notice. We're planning the fair sans/grandkids and I'm already wondering how long my stamina will last.
Has to be FOOTBALL!
You know me, I LOVE the cold weather. It energizes me. Hot summers make me grumpy and bitchy. I hate sweating, and I hate getting into a hot car and I hate it that all I have to do is walk from my car to the grocery store in the summer and when I get home I have to shower and changes clothes because I've soaked the ones I was wearing in sweat. Ugh. Give me 20 degree weather any day. I'll snuggle up with a blanket and a fire or layer on my soft warm fleece clothes...
Oh, the question, sorry, got distracted. Best thing about fall? IT'S NOT HOT ANYMORE! Also, My anniversary, my daughter's birthday, the state fair, and the smell of woodsmoke in the air
Hi Juliet. Love you my friend, but we are so opposite on this one. I try to enjoy all seasons, but in winter I just feel trapped inside and that's not fun.
Thanks to everyone for stopping by.
