Miss TV?

Are we suffering? I'm not sure the writers' strike is affecting my TV viewing that much. Sure I miss getting new episodes of Supernatural (gotta love that Dean!), but I've got both seasons on DVD. I read more, rent more videos, and have "more time" to write. PBS is airing new Jane Austen telecasts on Masterpiece Theater. (This week starts the Colin Firth version of Pride and Prejudice.) The writers may have valid complaints, but I hope they're not waiting for me to add my voice to the outcry. I'm doing fine.

How about you? Missing TV?

Megan- I miss my shows! I like the series dramas- Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Ugly Betty (okay, that's a silly comedy) and Brothers & Sisters. Thank goodness Project Runway and other reality shows are sill on.

We rented the first season of Slings & Arrows, and enjoyed it so much, we ordered seasons 2 and 3. If you're wondering, it's a Canadian series about a dysfunctional theater troupe. Such fun.

And my dh rented a series on art history. Pretty good, but it can be dry. That's when I read. :-)

I really didn't watch all that much tv before. sure I had favourite like CSI:NY and Las Vegas(which both still have new episodes airing). But it just means more reading time, plus Ijust got a new computer system and I'm trying to figure out the ins and outs of that.

I have to admit that the strike isn't bothering me much either. The one thing I wonder about is when these shows come up for being made into dvd's will they be at reduced price than the common $45 since half of the shows will be missing???

Some of my favorite shows are still on, Stargate Atlantis and Torchwood, mainly...

Also, I'm reading more and watching some old stuff... So I'm not too much affected by the writer's strike.

About all I watch on tv is sports, so am not missing it.

The longer it goes on the easier it's getting. I do tend to watch a lot of TV (I'm on the computer at the same time). We're watching a lot more on the discovery, history and news channels and renting a few more movies.

I watch hardly any tv so the strike doesn't bother me a bit.

I have to say I'm UNaffected by the writer's strike. I watch FOX news and American Idol.
I keep forgetting about that Jane Auten thing on PBS. But I own the P&P tapes with Colin Firth, so I'll be set this week if I miss. :)

Glad to hear I'm not the only one ok with the strike. My DH thought I was crazy to post that. I hope they get what they want and it's all resolved, but I agree with Jennifer Faye--the Season dvds of these shows should be discounted.

I don't normally watch TV. I read a lot. I did however start watching The Women's Murder Club and was very upset when the writer's went on strike. I think the strike has lasted long enough.
