Christmas Craft ideas

Christmas is right around the corner...those of you Mom's who are room mothers or have been put in charge of coming up with holiday craft ideas for a school christmas party will enjoy this site I stumbled upon.

My kids are college age so the days of school Christmas parties...at least the kind with crafts and treats are long gone, but I still enjoy making a small craft that I can attach to a present or a tin of homemade cookies for my neighbors.

Check out this Link for lots of cute ideas.  When you click on the picture of the craft you'll be taken to the blog where the idea originated.

Here are a few samples...

Marin, these are so cute! I love the reindeer gift bags and candy wreaths. The peanut gnomes are adorable, although I'm not sure what to do with them. Perhaps glue them onto gift tags?

When my kids were little, we used to make gift wrap from brown paper grocery bags. We'd cut the bag open so it would lie flat, then decorate the inside (the part that wasn't printed with the store's name) with rubber stamps, the kids' handprints dipped in fingerpaint, etc. Great for wrapping gifts for grandparents!

Amazing. You and Lee should be best friends, you are so talented. I once tried the paint a peanut... too funny for words. But I love looking.

I love the peppermint candy wreath. Wonder how it's held together? Have to look that up. You're so creative.

Linda W, I tried to find the instructions for the candy wreath - they're on the Martha Stewart website - but the site wouldn't load properly :(

Linda S, thanks for the compliment!

Marin, BFFs? ;)

Peppermint Ornaments

With an icy tingle on the tongue and a pinwheel of Santa-red and snow-white stripes, peppermints are the coolest holiday sweets -- especially when transformed into edible hanging ornaments. Lay five or so peppermint candies in a circle to form a wreath; bond sides together with icing. Adorn front with cinnamon candies or mints. Let dry two hours before hanging. Loop twine around ornament; knot.
