Missing the Olympics...

I am suffering major Olympics withdrawal right now. I had so much fun watching all the events. I found some new ones to root for with Nordic combined and ski cross. And if I loved Apolo any more, he’d need to take out a restraining order on me. The hockey games were amazing. I’m so proud that the MVP is a Michigan kid. Actually I’m so proud of all the athletes, no matter their country. They all played with so much heart. They work so hard and sacrifice so much to get to this level of competition that I can’t help but root for them all!

If like me, you’re suffering Olympics withdrawal, please remember to pick up my April book, HIS BABY SURPRISE. (I had to post that yummy cover again!) The hero, Brooks Hoover, is a hockey bad boy who’ll hopefully steal your heart like he stole mine and the heroine’s.

So who is your favorite athlete from the games? Or what was your favorite event?

You're not alone, Lisa. I miss the Olympics horribly! The long four year wait just kills me. My favorite event is the downhill. I live for it. (Both men and women's downhill). And following that the super G et al. Next comes ice skating. Ice dancing is fabulous. Next, Nordic ski jumping.
Can't wait to read your book about your hockey player. And you're right. Your cover just makes the old heart beat faster.

As a Florida gal, I'm not a huge follower of the winter Olympics, but the hero on the cover of HIS BABY SURPRISE could very well turn me into a hockey fan!

I noticed that Leigh is a Floridian. I live in the Rockies where my sons are fabulous skiers. I used to ski, so we have a natural love for winter sports. My one son played hockey,so we were glued to the USA Canada hockey match. So sorry we didn't win, but what a game! Whew!

Apolo Ono and speedskating. I loved it!

Rebecca, the downhill was amazing -- and very dangerous. Some of the female skiers bounced off that mountain like they were rag dolls. It was scary to watch. And Leigh, you'd probably love hockey. I'm also a summer Olympic fan -- probably more so than winter since my daughter's a gymnast. I know how hard she and her teammates work at their very tough sport. Estella, yes -- Apolo... sigh... I love watching him and really hope he continues competing!

I'm crazy about the summer Olympics too, Lisa. And I love the Tour de France. And I love college football and basketball and the NBA because we have the Jazz here in Salt Lake. You got me started on the subject, now I can't stop. Lol.

Oh-- I meant to comment on your daughter being a gymnast. How exciting (even if it's challenging). My son went to a gymnastics meet at the University of Utah the other night with his girlfriend. I guess we can't get enough of sports in our family. Good luck to your daughter.

Cross-country skiing. How they could go so far and so long and still have the power to sprint. I also found curling interesting. And the hockey game was very good! A good, clean game. Wish they could all be that way.

I love how inspired my girls were by the Olympics. Shows how far very hard work will get you!

I have a nasty head cold (now, when it's finally warm) and spring break is next week. I'm going to go buy a great pile of American romances and have a reading marathon. :)

I was amazed that the difference between first and fifth place in many events was only a few hundredths of a second... Not even the blink of an eye between a medal or not. All the atheletes should stand up tall and be proud.

While I miss the adrenalin rush of the events, I love being able to get out of my driveway now.
