ROMANTIC QUOTES

I don’t have much to blog about today. I’m busy trying to make a Feb 15 deadline. But I was reading our local paper this morning with breakfast and there was an article about Valentine’s Day and some favorite romantic movie quotes. They caught my attention and I thought I’d share some with you.

This one goes right to the heart.
"I’d rather spend a lifetime with you then to live all the ages of this world alone."
Arwen
Lord of the Rings

Ah, true love.
"When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with a person, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible."
Harry
When Harry Met Sally

What romance novels are all about.
"You make me wanna be a better man."
Melvin Udall
As Good as it Gets

This quote is true in life; not just on Valentine’s Day.
"A heart is not judged by how much you love; but by how much you are loved by others."
The Wizard
The Wizard of Oz

This next quote fits the book I’m writing. The hero and heroine are on opposite sides of a legal matter but love finds a way to bring them together.
"Even if we never speak again after tonight, please know that I’m forever changed because of who you are and what you’ve meant to me…"
Holden McNeil
Chasing Amy

And my favorite…
You should be kissed, and often, and by someone who knows how."
Rhett Butler
Gone With the Wind

Gotta love Rhett. I never got what Scarlett saw in the wimpy Ashley.

Do you have a favorite quote? Or which is your favorite from the above?

Wishing you a Happy Valentine’s Day filled with love.

Nice post.

First the obvious: Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. Alfred Lord Tennyson

Love is more easily demonstrated than defined. Unknown

Love doesn't sit there, like a stone, it has to be made, like bread, remade all the time, made new. Ursula Le Guin

Pam,
Oh, I love those.

It's so true that love is more easily demonstrated than defined, especially for most guys who have problems with the L word.

I like the quote from The Wizard of Oz.

Estella,
Me, too. It says it all.

For the life of me, I sure can't think of any -- but rather like Rhett's there. :)

Hmmm, don't have one to add, so my faves of yours are from Rhett and Harry.

Linda, thanks for sharing these. I'm a fan of the Wizard of Oz, but the others are good too.

I've got to agree with you as far as Rhett & Ashley. I never could understand what she saw in Ashley when Rhett was around. I like his quote best, although the others are excellent too.

Lois,
Thank you. Rhett gets my vote, too.

Marcie,
I think Rhett's alfa persona is going to live forever. He was that great. Harry's not bad either. LOL
Thank you.

Megan,
The Wizard of Oz is timeless. Every time it's shown on TV I watch it again.

Linda,
I never got it either. Love is really strange at times. I so wanted Rhett and Scarlett to find their way back to each other. As an author I would have changed that ending. But the book nor the movie would have been as great. That's why I write HEA category. Love the happy endings.
Thanks,
Linda

Linda, you always have fantastic posts and this is a goody too!
Of course I can't pass up Rhett - anything that came out of that man's mouth was wonderful, titilating, oh, I could go on and on! In fact I loved Rhett so muchthat he found his wicked way into my first book with a bit of role-playing between the hero and heroine. :-)
So Rhett's words do it for me!
And I agree with both you Lindas - what on earth was Scarlett thinking chasing than dandy wimp, Ashley- ugh!

CC,
All the heroes I've read about and seen on the big screen just don't compare to Rhett. He's that strong. That powerful.

How neat that Rhett found his wicked way into your book. I have it and now I have to find time to read it.

I agree. Ashley was a dandy wimp. And Scarlett was a little south of insane. LOL
