“Outside a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.”This is Blue, a heart-wrenchingly adorable Bearded Collie who was adopted by the good people at Sheepie Hollow. You can read Blue’s story here.
Read a book. Hug a dog. Have a wonderful summer.

Aww, Blue is such a cutie pie! I have such a soft spot for animals, particularly dogs.
What a lovely dog!
And that Groucho – he had quite the way with words. If only I could be so articulate…
That makes two of us, Trish! I would love to have a dog, but my cats have vetoed the idea.
Rachel, I can picture Groucho deilvering that line, eyebrows and cigar bobbing the whole time :)
Lee--Love the picture of the dog--what a cutie! And the quote is definitely worth a snicker or two--or three.

Alexis, it's love at first sight for everyone who meets Blue. It's always sad when someone has to surrender a dog, and so very heartwarming when the dog finds a new and very loving new home.
God bless people who are willing to take in an older animal!
I love dogs and cats! Blue looks as if he's in his second childhood. What a gift for him to find a kind home where he can spend his final years having fun.
We had a German shepherd for ten years. Kim was a real sweetie although she looked formidable when she chose. Thanks for the post, Lee.
That is certainly a photogenic dog.
Very expressive face. A total cutie.
But I must admit my fav is my Aussie Shepherd, Chica.
Estella, you and I are in complete agreement. I also firmly believe that when we see people do one good thing, we can be assured they do many, many more that go unnoticed.
Anita, you're right. Blue definitely has a puppy-ish twinkle in his eye!
German shepherds are such intelligent and devoted dogs, Anita. I'll bet your Kim was a charmer.
Blue is very photogenic, and I was pleased that he sat still long enough for me to snap that picture!
An Aussie named Chica. Interesting ;)
